ajbkr.com Take Three

The site you're currently viewing is the third implementation of ajbkr.com, my personal Web site.

This most recent version was migrated from Gridsome, a Jamstack framework for Vue.js, to a conventional server-side rendered Web app using Django and Python.

My motivations for migrating away from Gridsome to Django were two-fold:

  1. npm outdated showed that Gridsome hadn't received much love or attention from the open source community and, at time of writing, has not been updated in 2 years
  2. I was using Django and Python (and not Vue.js) a lot more in my day job, so utilising the back-end skills I'd acquired at work on a personal project would hopefully help the knowledge I'd gained properly cement itself that much more swiftly.

And et voila! So v3 of ajbkr.com was born. I am going to use it as a base upon which to craft some tiny projects.
